Rice will play off ball for us, we'll have to go small more

Unless we pull in 2 portal guys at forward, we're going to have to play 4 guard lineups next year because we don't have the talent at the 5 to play Ojiako, Kidd, Wessler for 40 minutes. I would say VT is a highly attractive program for versatile big men because of how much spacing our system provides and the opportunities to showcase passing, shooting, and inside game.

Rice is excellent at creating his own shot, attacks the basket well and is lights out from deep. He's a perfect addition to this roster and should be playing 20+ minutes off the bat. I don't think he's as good a creator for others as Pedulla has shown, so his minutes likely won't come at his expense. He's always looking for his own shot so playing in our system will take an adjustment. He will be the 2nd best ballhandler we have however so he's going to bring the ball up.

Collins is basically a larger, more athletic version of Alleyne with a better jump shot who plays above the rim. He'll need time to pick up the defense, so I don't expect a lot minutes from him early.

No guard on the team should be playing more than 28mpg next year to maximize effectiveness so we've probably got ~35 minutes to go around between Rice, Collins, Maddox, and Pedulla.
